Bioletti’s is the barber shop that features in the lyrics of ‘Penny Lane”, like nearly all of the places referred to in the song, the shop was not on Penny Lane itself but on Smithdown Place, overlooking the ‘roundabout’ with the bus shelter. Whilst waiting at the bus shelter, Paul McCartney jotted down the things he saw. He later turned these notes into the song.

"In Penny Lane, there is a barber showing photographs of every head, he's had the pleasure to know, and all the people that come and go, stop and say, "Hello"

The barber shop, now called Tony Slavin's is still there and still looks much the same internally as when the Beatles used to sit and wait for a trim.

This is just one of my many Beatles  themed paintings. Visit my shop to see the whole collection. and  discover how each piece beautfully complements  their enduring spirit.
